The Society of Internationally Educated Nurses and Nursing Allies (SIENNA), in partnership with the DAISY Foundation, is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2026 DAISY Award for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs).
This award recognizes Internationally Educated Nurses who demonstrate extraordinary compassion, clinical excellence, and a strong commitment to supporting patients, colleagues, and communities. It is an opportunity to honor IENs whose work elevates nursing practice and strengthens healthcare systems globally.
About the DAISY Award
The DAISY Award® is an internationally recognized program that honors nurses for the exceptional care they provide every day. Established by the DAISY Foundation, the award was created to express gratitude to nurses whose skill, empathy, and dedication have a lasting impact on patients and families.
Through its collaboration with SIENNA, the DAISY Award extends this recognition specifically to Internationally Educated Nurses—acknowledging their unique professional journeys, resilience, and meaningful contributions across diverse healthcare settings.
Honoring Internationally Educated Nurses
Internationally Educated Nurses bring invaluable global perspectives, clinical expertise, and cultural insight to patient care. Many also serve as mentors, advocates, and leaders within their organizations and communities. The DAISY Award for IENs celebrates individuals who exemplify excellence in nursing while supporting and uplifting others.
Nominees may be recognized for contributions such as:
Delivering compassionate, patient-centered care beyond expectations
Supporting and mentoring other Internationally Educated Nurses
Demonstrating leadership, professionalism, and ethical practice
Strengthening teamwork and fostering inclusive healthcare environments
Award Presentation
The 2026 DAISY Award for Internationally Educated Nurses recipient will be formally recognized during SIENNA’s 2nd IEN Global Conference in October 2026. Additional details regarding the conference and award presentation will be announced at a later date.
Honorees receive a DAISY Award certificate, a commemorative pin, and the DAISY sculpture—symbols of the compassion and excellence that define the nursing profession.
