SIENNA Celebrates Global Success Through the Sigma Nurse Learning Exchange

The nursing profession continues to evolve globally, highlighting the importance of continuing professional development in strengthening clinical competence, leadership, resilience, and quality patient care.

To support accessible nursing education, the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing launched the Sigma Nurse Learning Exchange through support from the Johnson & Johnson Foundation. The initiative provides free Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) courses for nurses and nursing students worldwide.

Through this initiative, the Society of Internationally Educated Nurses and Nursing Allies (SIENNA) partnered with Sigma to expand educational opportunities for internationally educated nurses and nursing allies globally. The collaboration provided access to more than 50 free CPD contact hours and encouraged lifelong learning across the nursing community.

Due to the remarkable engagement and participation of nurses, ambassadors, and supporters worldwide, SIENNA was recognized as the Most Engaged Organization in the Sigma Nurse Learning Exchange Engagement Contest and received a $5,000 award.

In addition, SIENNA received a $4,500 grant for the successful publication of three courses authored by SIENNA Ambassadors Dr. Paul Biluan, Dr. Rasha Wahid, and Dr. Mary Jane Genuino:

* Conquer the NCLEX: Strategic Prep for Internationally Educated Nurses

* Mental and Emotional Well-Being in Nursing: Strategies for Sustainable and Resilient Practice

* Transition to Practice

Altogether, SIENNA received a total of $9,500 through participation in the Sigma Nurse Learning Exchange initiative.

These achievements reflect SIENNA’s commitment to education, collaboration, professional growth, and global nursing empowerment. The awards and grants will further support programs and initiatives that enhance leadership development, mentorship, education, and engagement opportunities for nurses worldwide.

SIENNA extends sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors, ambassadors, volunteers, members, and participants whose support and dedication contributed to the success of this meaningful collaboration.
